Medical team from Singapore check on Rajini

Rajini's doctors who treated him in Singapore have flown down to Chennai for a check up. They performed the routine tests and were satisfied with his recovery. Everything has mended nicely and Superstar is fit as a fiddle they opined much to the delight of his family, friends, and fans.

Work on Rana was scheduled to begin in September and Rajini has been raring to go, but his doctors have put a dampener on his plans. They cautioned him not to rush into a hectic work schedule too soon as his body might not be able to cope with the added pressure. Very sternly they told him that nothing is more important than his health and he must take things easy for another month at least. Therefore shooting for Rana has been postponed to October.

Rajinikanth condoles Shammi Kapoor’s death

Superstar Rajinikanth expressed his grief and condolences over the death of Bollywood legend Shammi Kapoor. “I am a great admirer and a huge fan of Shammiji. His energy on screen is a treat to watch and I have loved every bit of it. His demise is a huge loss to the film industry and fraternity and mainly to his millions of fans. I convey my heart felt condolences to all in his family,” Rajinikanth said in a statement.

“O mere sona... you will always live in our hearts,” he added.

Shammi Kapoor, 79, passed away this morning due to chronic renal failure. The veteran actor recently shot with his grand-nephew Ranbir Kapoor for the latter’s upcoming film Rockstar.

After Ko, which was a huge blockbuster, the expectations are sky high. Apparently he has more than 2500 fan clubs in Tamil Nadu and more in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

Before the release, Jiiva's fans were seen in the Vadapalani area offering prayers for the success of the film. A lot of poor people had assembled there and cows were distributed to them and later they sat down to partake in a feast  that was provided for them. On the release of the film, firecrackers were set off and the fans celebrated Jiiva's 15th film. This is a tribute to the rising popularity of Jiiva.

For the vaunted bike sequences in Mankatha, Ajith used a bike that was acquired in Singapore. It is a special bike with a truly powerful engine which Ajith enjoyed driving full speed on the open road. His average speed on it was about 190 kms/ hr. When the cinematographer Sakthi Saravanan expressed his amazement over the speed Ajith drove at, Thala only laughed.

Ajith admitted that the bike could actually go much faster but as per the legal rules a lock had been put on the mechanism curtailing its speed levels. Otherwise Ajith said he would have easily managed to more than 220 kms/hr.
